The Middle Georgia STEM Alliance and the 21st Century Partnership are grateful to the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Inc. (CFCG) for their investment in the STEM Outreach and Workforce programs we support. These funds will empower us to take the message of STEM education and careers further across the region, to K-12 students, parents, and teachers. It will also serve as an example to other business and industry partners as they consider investing in the pipeline of tomorrow’s STEM-skilled workforce. STEM Outreach is a practical application of supply management for human talent, essential to the future of Robins AFB and the economic development of Middle Georgia.
These funds will be used to provide parts and supplies for competitive robotics teams in middle and high schools in the region. This year, the Alliance has encouraged the establishment of five new FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams and supported the continuation of three FTC and two FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams. With these funds, we will scholarship some students from economically challenged communities to participate in STEM camps and events. And, we will be able to continue our work of communicating the great opportunities of STEM education and careers to K-12 students, parents, and teachers in Middle Georgia. Your grant enables us to connect the dots of STEM goodness all across Middle Georgia.
